Dyson’s new hair care technology uses high-pressure airflow to straighten your hair as it dries. The air is precisely heated and directed evenly during styling, without relying on excessive heat.
The air is projected downwards at a 45° angle, to give you the intensity you need to straighten your hair and achieve a straight, smooth result with less hair damage and breakage.
The glass bead thermal resistors, located on the arms of the device, regulate the air temperature up to 30 times per second, to prevent damage from excessive heat and protect the natural shine of your hair.
A 13-blade impeller spins at up to 106,000 rpm, pushing 11.9 liters of air per second. This creates 3.6 kPa of pressure, strong enough to straighten your hair as you dry it.

Styling from wet to dry hair
Straighten and dry your hair – all at once. Three (3) preset temperatures – 80°C, 110°C and 140°C – take your hair from wet to finished style.
Refresh dry hair
Upgrade or refresh your style from dry hair. Use at 120°, 140° or in the optional Boost mode for maximum styling performance.
Smart airflow
Airflow when you need it. Your appliance senses when hair is between the arms and automatically reduces airflow when it’s not – for quieter and more effective styling.
LCD screen
The high-definition color display shows airflow and temperature settings for easy reference during styling.
Security function
Slide the button to lock and unlock the arms of your device. Use it with the arms locked to gently dry hair and create volume at the roots.
Automatic shutdown
After three seconds of inactivity, the device will automatically turn off. Simply move the device to restart the airflow.
Why does this device need a PRCD?
